Kiko

About the artist Kiko: Manuel Fernandez was born in 1985 in Martigues near Marseille. His stage name - Kiko - was his childhood nickname. He has never had formal artistic training and is entirely self-taught, drawing on his innate ability to paint and draw.

As a passionate Urban Art artist, he takes inspiration from Pop Art and Street Art. His pieces are a mix of familiar faces, American icons, graffiti and bold colors. His roots are in abstract art and he manages to throw "bombs" filled with acrylic onto the canvas. This mix of chaos and contrast creates his bold motifs, and each canvas pays homage to his unique style.

Now also with us in the NL gallery.

He never had any formal artistic training and is entirely self taught, relying on his innate talents for painting and drawing.  Passionate about urban art, he tends to base his work on Pop Art and Street Art. His pieces are a blend of well-known faces, American icons, graffiti, and flashy colours. His roots are in abstract art and he creates by throwing acrylic filled 'bombs' at the canvas. It's through this blend of chaos and contrast that his bold motifs emerge, and each canvas is a tribute to his unique style.
